A Fearsome Lady

Something I've Been Meaning To Talk About...

What Could I Possibly Be Talking About? Violence & How A Lady Handles Herself In A Violent Situation.

How Do I Define A Violent Situation?

A violent situation one might encounter can happen in many different ways.
1) A brawl at an event or establishment (and unfortunately we can't pull that move the queen from brave does... It's not safe and most likely won't actually work in any situation above play fighting)
2) Domestic abuse (hands down if a guy is abusing you leave him he isn't worth it)
3) A violent crime. (The scariest and least likely of the situations but still be Prepared)

How Is This Relevant To Lolita?

Weather you want to believe it or not Lolitas can be exposed to all types of violence too we may be ladies but we are still humans. However as Lolitas we do look innocent which may even bring extra violence our way, some may see us and view us as easy targets. So what am I insinuating? We should train and become finely tuned lethal weapons... (go go lolituh-uhs!) OK maybe not lethal weapons but indeed learn how to take care of ourselves without help in those situations.

Situation 1: The brawl/ spat gone wrong/ cat fight

What do you do? Abstain mostly... depending on how relevant you are to the situation. If someone is defending your honor or something very relevant to you try to somehow get them to hear that you do not want this try to get them to abstain, if they do not listen, leave the situation. This will be hard but it is necessary for your own well being. If you are being instigated to violence abstain, always abstain. However, if you were arguing and all of a sudden something violent is done to you, you have every right to defend yourself. I did say defend, meaning you only neutralize the threat to your person, meaning you will have a block, a strike, a take down, and an escape. Notice I said a for each one of those and also notice the order in which I said them. I would also like to define "Take Down" a take down is a throw, it will either get your attacker on the ground, or propelled against a wall it is not a hit, it is a device used to get your attacker further away from you and less likely to chase you.

Situation 2: Domestic Abuse

As soon as your partner abuses you physically, mentally, or emotionally you need to make the decision to get out of that relationship, and do not give them a second chance, especially when it comes to physical abuse. Violence is never OK. You get out you tell the cops, and I know it's hard I have never gone to the cops yet myself even. it's scary I know it. Fortunately that is no longer something I have to worry about right now but you really should get there as soon as possible after the incident. Why? By filing this report with the police you have a previous incident, and you can get a restraining order, if he/she decides that he/she will not let you go. I know it sucks waiting and worrying are they going to try something again, but at least this way you can cut the violation down to two singular incidents. I also suggest if you are worried about this happening after the first incident get into the first self defense class you can find. I took Krav Maga and now I could probably kick my mans butt and he's literally twice my weight and over a foot taller than me, of course I never want to or feel the need to... except when he forgets to do dishes haha! I jest.

Situation 3: Violent Crime

It's actually really hard to defend yourself from a violent crime without having taken a self defense class, besides not walking alone at night. However their are signs you can read from some kinds of attackers (mostly rapists). These are called survival signs. I highly suggest the purchase of the book entitled "The Gift Of Fear" it's like nine bucks, and a great tool, especially the chapter entitled "Survival Signs". However, I will give you the names of them since I am so kind.

Charm & Niceness (sorry you just cannot believe that a stranger is just nice, I'm sure some are, but defensively you have to believe they are doing it with the express purpose to control you.)

Too Many Details (only two possibilities for someone blabbering out facts about what they are doing, one they are lying, or two they have a disorder such as aspergers that effects their filter, and understanding of how to be social. Always bet on the first one.)

The Unsolicited Promise (examples I'll make sure your safe, I'll leave you be, I'm gonna split after you get to your door. They might be being truthful... but much more likely it's a lie to gain your trust.)

Discounting The Word No (when you drop subtle hints you want them gone or when you say no thanks and they don't leave you alone. You don't have to be forceful about it an actually nice guy will leave you alone if you say no thanks or act like you aren't interested.)

Loansharking (anytime a stranger offers help it can easily become the, well I carried your groceries let me in your house you owe me, type of situation.)

Forced Teaming (any incident in which a stranger tries to make you part of a unit or team with them usually by using the word "we" we gotta stick together in this neighborhood.)

Type Casting (you know when someone who doesn't know you insults you by overgeneralizing you like one might do with the members of a teen clique. "Oh you're probably too much of a snot to hang with me" this kind of insult is something that we naturally want to prove wrong. But you have to tell yourself "hey I don't know this jerk, who cares what he thinks anyway, he should just let me go about my business, I have no time for this in my life.")

Final Message

While not everyone is out to get you you should always stay on the skeptical safe side, if someone is actually nice and you have a few encounters with friendly waves they might eventually become your friend, but really don't count on people being nice, learn to defend yourself using mental techniques and physical techniques. You may be a very lady like little girl, but I implore you learn how to go from teddy bear to momma grizzly for your own protection. I am the sweetest most elegant little princess until I feel threatened, and then I go rabid fox on em hatchee hatchee hatchee ho! No one says it's wrong for me to be this way many admire this 5'1" 110 lb red head for being able to sit pretty, go crazy kung fu master, and then go right back to her tea party. ^_^  BE A LADY YES, BUT BE A FEARSOME LADY!

P.S. I would also like to point out how hilarious it would be to see a Sweet Lolita defense class, you know with the wigs and everything, super over the top nonsense!

Guess Who's Back!

I Have Been Gone A Long Time and I Apologize.

My excuse is that I have been going through a lot recently, relationship issues, going through the job change, and I'm changing my major. I know you're curious what I'm changing my major to, well I'm going into culinary arts, an looking into acting. I actually may be studying abroad in Italy in two years time.

I Was Working On A Project While Gone However.

I made my sister her very own beaded crown.

I must say it is quite stunning for a first attempt and she absolutely adores it. I intend to make more of these and start selling them, but in the mean time I will tell you how to make a simple on of your own. all you need is 16 gauge wire, beads, lace, ribbon, hot glue and a button with a loop back.
1) Braid a few pieces of the wire into a circle for the base.
2) Cut four pieces of wire equal length. Wrap one end of the wire around the base repeating with each of your four pieces at equal distance.
3) Thread your wire with the beads leaving enough room at the top to attach your button.
4) Put the wires through the buttons loop and wrap around until secure.
5) glue your lace around the base covering up all the exposed wire, make sure to glue your ribbon on the inside of the lace.
when dry tie the lace around your head under your chin and voila you are a pretty princess.

Well that will be all for today! I do hope to be back soon, but my stress is definitely not going to end anytime soon.  Many bills to pay and all. I plan on figuring out more of the cook book recipes, keep voting on that poll.

Hey Guys I've got a little notice for you!

I Have Signed up For Addsense.

So If you notice adds on my site no worries. Just trying to support my blog and Lolita habits. As a notice I will be personally approving which adds should be allowed on here. I won't have weird adult entertainment adds floating around so no worries. I will also still be displaying adds for free for the little guys, such as artist Gab.riel who needs to make me a fresh picture for his add, by the way, he's switched to pay what you'd like policy, ooohhh ahhh. <-shameless product placement pls.

Also while I only really want to display adds for free for the little guys I personally know. If you would like to display an add for your etsy shop or what not shoot me a line including a link. If I decide your work is relevant to this blog I will of course consider displaying your add on here. Of course the charge will be a very small one time fee and your add will be displayed for a specified amount of time. Us little guys gotta stick together after all.

But In Other News...

Has anyone noticed this super great new trend in Lolita where dresses are beginning to lean towards more elegance... or dare I say towards more Grimm's fairy tales like style? Gasp! I'm actually super excited for the elegant sweet Lolita pieces that may be coming up with luxurious fabrics  in super pastel pinks, purples, and mint greens, not to mention sky blues! I am very excited about all the sky blue pieces out right now. I also think part of my excitement to the mix of kawaii and elegance may have been sparked upon my discovery of my dream dress, Day Dream Carnival. I want it so bad!

Ok folks I'm gonna end this rant before I forget to get dressed for work and go in my jammies. Toodle loo!

Just A Quick Check In On Everything Plus FROZEN!

Hello All!

The job search continues, but the one place I applied, which is the company my job is being outsourced too has some really neat features, that I could grow to like. Including better pay, better insurance, and easier to achieve insurance, including dental ooooo ahhhhh! So that's good, especially since now I'm feeling much less depressed, and I'm posting on here yay! I will soon be able to more easily afford loli clothes buahahaha!

In other news a friend and I went to see Frozen... Yeah I'm a procrastinator...

It was quite good, not as good as Monuments Men, oh god that movie was breath taking, but I was quite pleasantly surprised by how good it was! I cried during like five separate occasions. I can definitely see why it's been in theaters since thanksgiving, and I admit I already pre-ordered the blue ray from amazon. So now my sister and I can watch it together, it is a sister flick after all. Just like Brave is a mother daughter flick and I always watch it with my mom... and cry a lot, over the bond of mother and daughter, I am truly a huge softy.
But I digress, the hair in Frozen is super loli friendly and I plan on either getting wigs in the hair styles or styling wigs into the hairstyles myself.  P.S. bought a beautiful wavy strawberry blonde wig recently can't wait till it arrives.

A Little Bad News...

I Know I Promised To Post Something Good Soon

Today at a meeting at my work I was informed that my company is phasing out my department and outsourcing it. Meaning I have to either apply to the company they are outsourcing to, or another job. While I would love to do this blog for a living, it doesn't currently make me any money. So for a little while I'll be busy trying to get a new job, while working my current job until mid April, this means I will be less than attentive to you the audience.

However I do have a Lolita inspired story to leave you all with for now.

I Only Ask For Time
There was once a young woman as pale as lilies, she had pink roses in her cheeks, and her eyes shown as blue as the dark winter sky. No one compared to her beauty. However, in her heart there was obvious sadness; men would offer anything to make the beautiful woman smile.
Men approached wanting the woman’s love, and ask “What could I do for your heart?”
To which she’d reply “I only ask for time”
“But there is no way to give time fair lady, perhaps riches”
“I only ask for time”
“I can give you stability”
“I only ask for time”
“Perhaps sobriety?”
“I only ask for time”
“What about fidelity?”
“I only ask for time”
“Sincerity”
“I only ask for time”
“I could give you joviality dear lady, but it seems nothing could satisfy your wretched heart”
They would always leave after offering the lady all the worldly possessions, and services they could. For nothing but time could satisfy the woman. After all no one can give time.

One day the young lady was sitting by a tree, watching the wind play through the flowers, and grass of the meadow in which the tree sat. When, a young man from a town nearby came to trade for some textiles for his father, who was a tailor. He had never seen such a woman and went up to her.
“I noticed you sitting here very melancholy, and wanted to know if there was something I could do to make you feel better.”
“I only ask for time” said the young woman yet again.
The boy was perplexed and walked away pondering what the lady said. That night on his way home he went back to the tree, but the lady had left. He asked at a nearby cottage what had happened to her, and was told she had gone home. Then he asked if he might see her there again. They politely told him that she often comes to that tree to watch the wind on the grass.
The boy went back to the tree and sat for three days, buying food from the nearby cottage woman, and using his father’s textiles to sew a quilt. The quilt was beautiful, with delicate embroidery around the edges, and a beautiful white apple blossom design sewn in the middle. When the lady returned to her spot on the fourth day, she was surprised to see the young man dosing in the sun, on the beautiful quilt.
“Ahem” the lady softly cleared her throat
The boy awoke suddenly to see the woman looking at him
“What are you doing here?”
“I was waiting for you; I thought maybe when you returned, we could just sit here and watch the grass together.”
“Why would you do that?”
“You seemed very lonely, as if perhaps you needed someone to spend some time with you. Please sit with me.”
The young woman sat down on the quilt beside him, and smiled sweetly.
That young man was the only one who had ever just sat with her, and they sit together now, and forever until the end of time, in love, on that beautiful quilt.

THE END

That concludes today's segment have a lovely evening.

My Special Big Project

Not An Unveiling But An Explanation

Hey! I've been away since Valentines day I know, it has nothing to do with romance as I am currently far away from my beloved. I've been getting over a head cold as well as working at my shitty job and just couldn't think of anything to write in my weakened state.

HOWEVER! I have in fact gotten some of the grunt work done for my big project, and I think I am ready to take a poll relating to it.

So What Exactly is This Elusive Big Project?

Well I am writing a cookbook guys, but not just any cookbook. This cookbook, is a Lolita cook book. Many of the recipes are tea time treats, but some are for more than just tea time. But wait there's more! These recipes are more healthy, lower in fat or calories, or higher in fiber than there original versions. However some of them are just naturally healthy, just the way they are.

So My Poll is Which Free Recipes Would You Like?

I do plan on eventually selling this cook book, after all I'm not made of money.

Which Kind of Recipes Would You Like a Free Sample of?
Savory
Confectionaries
Baked Goods
Cookies
Japanese
Other
Poll Maker

I should be back in a couple of days with a new post after I pick up supplies.
In the mean time I'll be writing the recipes out, and you should be taking this poll. No poll no recipes lovelies!

The Easiest bloomers ever done.

Bloomers Seam to Be The Hardest Thing For Me to Get Around to Making... Until Now.

Things Needed:

  • 1 pair flannel or knitted loose legged pajama pants. Like these. http://www.gap.com/Asset_Archive/GPWeb/Assets/Product/603/603646/main/gp603646-01p01v01.jpgYou're going to want them to be old, or it will be a waste of money. If you don't have any pick some up at a thrift store.
  • Elastic strip for clothing. You can use any width but mine is 1/8 inch. Pick it up at your local craft store.
  • Thread in a color that blends well into the fabric.
  • Regular sewing needle.
  • Scisors.
  • Any decorations you want. I used beaded ribbon flowers.

Destructions... I mean Instructions...

  • First cut the fabric about 1/3 way up your thigh from the knee. Make sure the legs are fairly even, but with this project it's not necessary to be perfect.
  • Next take your elastic band and making sure not to stretch it. Put it around the middle point of your thigh, or three inches below where you want your bloomers to hit. Mark and cut.
  • Then cut another strip of the same leangth.
  • Sew the ends of elastic together, ending up with two circles.
  • Now turn whats left of the pajama pants inside out. Put the elastic around the leg hole, fold the seam over the elastic, and hand sew around the leg hole, making sure to keep the elastic at the bottom. You do not have to sew the elastic in place.
  • Repeat previous step for other leg hole.
  • Flip bloomers back right side out.
  • Decorate with preferred decorations. I sewed my beaded ribbon flowers at the bottom on the seam.

Finito! Voila!

These are just super cute and way easier to make than bloomers using shorts to draft your own pattern. As an Upstate New York citizen I seriously own like two pairs of pajama shorts. In the winter shorts aren't enough, and in the summer I pretty much have to sleep in my skivvies with the window open because I can't sleep without a blankie. So for the winter to go under your skirt, these are perfect and quite toasty. I am thinking of outlining a good option for summer bloomers sometime in the spring.

In other news: I'm working on a very big project for the site right now! It probably wont be complete for another week, so in the mean time smaller posts, probably every other day. Get yourselves super excited for later though! That's all for now! Ta Ta!

Kawaii animals.

That's Right Folks It's About to Get Fluffy!

I love animals! That's the truth, anything with fuzzy sure is something I can love. Even though I have an intense fear of rodents I can admit some of them are indeed cute. However, not all animals I love are considered cute be society... or even me. Personally I would not want a JSK decorated with a regal dog such as the doberman, however, a cute little tea cup terrier and I'd be in love! So what am I writing about today? First, main stream Kawaii animals, by this I mean It's been on Brand pieces. Second, animals I think are adorable, and should be put on some Brand pieces.

All Things Main Stream Kawaii

First kawaii animal kitties! Kittens to be more specific.  You can see an embroidered one below, on a Dream of  Lolita coat.
http://clobbaonline.com/web_images/dream_of_lolita_kitten_bow_embroidery_coat_set_5.jpg
My second animal on the list is deer, now personally I did not think deer could be cute but I was proven wrong by the amazingly cute Milky Chan as seen below.

Now my third animal is a rodent, now in real life I am terrified of bunnies but in pictures or on Lolita clothes I can handle it... even find them kind of cute. Bunnies in Lolita I find are most often represented on hoods. I admit I want a bunny ear hooded coat or sweat shirt a lot, but I'm not sure if I want to make my own, or buy one so I've procrastinated.
My fourth animal, is the little lamb. I don't think there is a more universally adorable livestock than the lamb. Seen Below in the shape of a purse dawwww!
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNABoIB6D0RlJyocWu2MuZuENWKMI59nznoaPAJPzxSucTIUtBibvDWNgO-wEsmgw6fnIAL8MLRQXPW16G1XNcpKsyG07fNX_m1vwNoqD3H1KIrAbF4r2v0sFOh7F-monbF6hdYXigWQw/s1600/3.png
Next animal on the list is bears... or teddy bears. You can see the most common bear character Rilakkuma below as part of a hair clip worn by blogger Lovely Lor. I am a huge fan girl of her.
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5qmfqmku01qahsqho1_500.jpg

Ok final kawaii animal I've seen. Puppies! Below they are seen on Innocent World's puppy OP

http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/alpineheidi/16799959/3601/3601_640.jpg

I have seen other animals on Lolita pieces, these are just the most kawaii, I do not count birds because they are not the focus of the prints they are on usually, or horses because they are usually represented as carousel ponies which as you know in the real world are inanimate objects.

Animals I'd Like to See More In Lolita

First animal... mice, particularly the dormouse, I'm still terrified of rodents including dormice, but I admit they are super cute.
Another animal I find Lolita is lacking is foxes, my most favorite animal ever.
http://ih0.redbubble.net/image.10394596.4237/flat,550x550,075,f.jpg
My final animal is the goat/ram seen below in an artistic representation by lovvefetish on deviantart lovvefetish.deviantart.com
http://th01.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2012/098/8/5/little_chibi_ram_by_xxtekunobanixx-d4vi2jn.png

Do any of you have an animal you'd like to see more often in Lolita? Please post in the comments and tell me.

Lolita & Health

That's Right Ladies and Gentlemen! I'm One of Those Health Freaks!

OK not really a health freak, but definitely health conscious. I'm 5'1" and weigh about 108 depending on the time of the month. Now I don't argue that some of this is merely a gift, but believe it or not I've experienced... DUN DUN DUN!!! A diet. Diets do in fact suck a bit, but I don't exactly know why people whine so much. I went on a two week liver detox for my nutrition class. That is an extreme diet, far more extreme than regular weight loss diets. An out line of this diet is  first 2 days tea with only maple syrup, next five days raw fruit and vegetable juices, (as a note my teacher progressed me further in the diet sooner due to fainting from low blood sugars, and I'm not even diabetic. So I only juiced for about a day and a half.) next week raw and steamed fruits and vegetables with brown rice. I made do with what I was allowed and even found a way to enjoy what I was allowed to have. Which is really the biggest factor for whether a diet will be successful or not.

Health Benefits That Come With Being a Lolita

Lolita's hold more health cards than you think! First off tea is actually good for you, although with how much tea Lolita's drink I suggest whitening gum and toothpaste. Each kind of tea has it's own set of benefits, because every herb has it's own set of chemical compounds, take it from someone trying to become a homeopathist, tea is medicine! I'll only be going into black tea because it is the most common. Black tea has compounds that may in fact limit plaque formation, and bacterial growth. Other benefits include, lowered risk of stroke, cancer, arthritis, osteoporosis, and diabetes, as well as stress relief, digestive health, immune system support, increased blood flow to the brain, metabolism, heart, kidneys and respiratory stimulation, and finally drinking some hot tea just makes you happy which is the most important thing be happy! Hapiness makes you healthy!

Being a Lolita should make you happy if it doesn't you may wish to consider not spending $300 on that JSK. There is no point in spending this much money if it does not give you any joy. So being a Lolita makes you healthy because joy is good for your health. However, I find going out in an outfit gives me an adrenaline rush, not just because everyone looks at you, which is not always bad I get many compliments asking if I'm a model which is super awesome, but also you're challenging the system, and you're in constant alert of what stains or if your print runs liquids in general. A little adrenaline is actually good for you! It's good for your heart, your skin, and your brain.

Health Risks That Come With Being a Lolita

Now I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Lolita comes with health risks. The most obvious one is the cakes and cookies, you're going to have to control yourself... and I suggest finding ways to make baked goods more healthy. I will discuss methods later. Second thing actually is the clothing itself sadly. Corsets are a big thing, they restrict your breathing, can keep your bowls locked down, and of course Corsetia. So make sure to take em off after 8 hours you need your organs to be able to move during the day it's good for you. But there is also the layers, now I'm not saying wear a JSK without a blouse. In the summer please please please Wear short sleeves! Buy an OP, wear one less petticoat, just cuff socks, light colors get a pretty parasol, and even a lace fan, go without a wig. For those who don't wear cuff socks, such as Gothic Lolitas, wear Lacey tights or just knee socks. Trust me heat stroke sucks I've gotten it in shorts and a T-shirt! Remember your sun block, stay pale, and avoid sun poisoning, something I've gotten with sun block on, it is also uncomfortable.

Healthify Your Routine!

My first suggestion is take down the sugar in the tea, do it slowly, and eventually you will actually enjoy unsweetened tea, my camomile is always unsweetened and it tastes sweet, however if you are sweetening use honey, honey is lower on the glycemic index than sugar but tastes sweeter, that mean less calories. OK I know there are some teas out there that you probably wouldn't want honey in, personally my chai never has honey always sugar, it just tastes better that way, but for most tea honey is awesome.

Second suggestion, now this only goes for muffins, pancakes, yeast free quick breads, cakes, and cupcakes. To add fiber, instead of using the eggs your recipe calls for, 1/4 cup of applesauce or half a mashed up banana are a great replacement for one egg. Although reduce the sugar by I'd say a tablespoon per two eggs worth of replacement. I also like this really easy vegan recipe we call it screwball cake at home, I won't be giving away my personal family recipe because it's a secret, but I have found an equivalent for you. http://www.tastebook.com/recipes/873020-Screwball-Cake

Third suggestion goes for other food options, instead of all the sweets, try some savory foods, like a nice high vegetable quiche, It's cute, but also good for you! Or vegetarian nikuman, which is probably one of my favorite snacks ever! Perhaps instead of regular tea you could have boba tea, the tapioca pearls are high in fiber. Try making your own pie crust, but healthy. Sneak in the veggies everywhere you can, there are lots of sites and books out there dedicated specifically to sneaking in veggies.

Recipes:

High fiber pie crust ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, plus extra for rolling.
  • 1  cup oats.
  • 1 cup olive oil.
  • 1 teaspoon salt.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar.
  • 6 to 8 Tbsp ice water.
Directions:
  • In a blender or food processor add flour, oats, salt, and sugar. Pulse until oats are ground.
  • Add olive oil and pulse until it resembles course meal.
  • Add ice water, a tablespoon at a time pulsing between each tablespoon until mixture just begins to clump together. Try taking some into your hand and squeezing gently if it holds together it's ready.
  • Form the dough into two balls, but do not over knead, then sprinkle with flour wrap in plastic wrap.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Take a disk out of the refrigerator, let stand 10 minutes.
  • Roll out into a needed shape and place in pie plate or casserole pan.
  • If extra is needed for your pan just pinch pieces off the other ball and add to the the base of the pan.
  • Add filling and bake to filling instructions.
Quiche formula:
First yes Quiche is not a recipe it is a formula trust me on this. Actually it's more of a ratio. The reason is now you can make any size quiche with any added ingredients you want. Although drain anything canned do not add corn until you are more experienced, and be careful with mushrooms because corn and mushrooms can cause problems with your quiche setting because they add a lot of water while cooking.
  • Crust is put down first, however, you can always omit the crust for a healthier quiche.
  •  Cheese ok If you're going to make a good quiche you'll want cheese no matter what even if you're trying to stay healthy. While selecting your cheeses for health reasons, dry hard flavorful cheeses such as romano, parmesan, cheddar, bella vitano (I will go on and on about this amazing cheese), asiago, manchego, and sharp provolone are recomended. Harder cheeses tend to be lower in fat, and high flavor cheeses a little goes a long way. Add a thin but well covering layer to both your bottom right on top of the crust (unless there is no crust then leave this out.) and on top when you're finished adding the vegetables and custard. If you're feeling frisky and not on a diet maybe a middle layer would be acceptable.
  • 1 egg to 1/2 cup of milk for every egg you add you add another half cup of milk easy as pie... or quiche. I don't suggest using lower fat than two percent milk. This is also where you put any seasonings.
  • Add any cooked vegetables you want just make sure they are drained, but still be careful around the corn and mushrooms, if you must add them I implore you keep them to a minimum. I like to fill the pan halfway to two thirds of the way full, when using leafy greens more towards the half full spectrum, and put it in in layers veggie egg veggie egg. For a healthier quiche select healthier vegetables.
Baking Directions:
  • Bake your quiche at 350 degrees Fahrenheit unless in a dark or glass baking disk then at 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Until the outside is fully cooked, however the middle should still be a little loose and jiggly the quiche will continue to cook while it is cooling. worst case it will still be undercooked when cool and you put it back in the oven for ten or so minutes. With time it will all become natural to you.
Nikuman:
Nikuman is funny Niku means meat, and I'm personally suggesting making these with just veggies for healthy factor. The big focus is the dough and the sauce that goes with the filling. My suggestion for veggies is make it high in cabbage and mushrooms.
http://www.kitchenbutterfly.com/2011/02/26/nikuman-japanese-pork-buns/ Here's a good recipe, just mess with the filling, and voila healthy!

Fourth suggestion, try mochi! Not mochi ice-cream unless you're using the vegan 1 ingredient banana ice-cream recipe which is yum yum yum! But mochi with red bean paste is good for you and often gluten free!

Fifth suggestion, wear corsets... I know I just told you not to wear corsets too much but I find if I wear a corset while or after eating I eat less, I don't get hungry as quick. Now don't do this every day, but if you're going to a meet where there will be lots of unhealthy foods, wear one, it will help you resist the urge for more cake.

If you'd like any more health tips or healthy versions of comfort foods just comment and I'll see what I can do. ^_^ Until next time Ta Ta dearies!

Lolita and Eroticism.

First things First!

Lolita is not a sexual fashion! Just like hipsterism is not a sexual fashion. However, just like any fashion out there some people do have a fetish for it, I.E. I have a fetish for suits, and uniforms.

Now addressing Erololita

Erololita has many many many, shapes and forms, My personal favorite, which comprises of the lolita undergarments can be seen at the top of this blog. You can wear any sub-style of lolita while dressing in Erololita. While normally Erololita is more skimpy than regular Lolita, some may find the full Lolita outfit arousing. It all really is based on taste.

The Other Side of Things

Those who are not a part of the Lolita community, often mistake Lolita for age play. First off I'd like to say, isn't the fashion girls 12-18 are dressing in age play if this is true? Seriously they're dressing like 22 year old party girls, so if Lolita is age play so is regular fashion. Ok yes, Lolita for some is age play, but the same can be said of the catholic school girl uniforms. I wear Lolita because it's pretty, I like the way it looks, not because I get some sexual kick out of it. Yes the corsets, bloomers, and petticoats are sexy to me, but so is regular lingerie. Lolita undergarments are just that Lingerie for under Lolita clothing, panties are sexy always, but what we wear over them is not necessarily so.

My point is, just because some people are into it sexually, does not mean it is a sexual fashion. So do not judge Lolitas because of the few with kinks.

How to Properly Put on a Wig

It's Not as Easy as It Seams... Trust me.

First off you'll be needing some materials:
  • Bobby pins (unless your hair is less than four inches long.)
  • Wig caps (yes at least two, up to four)
  • Wig
First step, you will either want to do pin curls, or a round the head twist depending on hair length.  For those with shoulder length or less pin curls all the way. For those with shoulder length or more I suggest a round the head twist, it is so much easier than pin curls!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPHEzUr5bWQ Link to how to do round the head twist.

Step two, Put on your wig caps... It's not that hard you do it like you would do a knitted cap.

Step three, put on your wig, it's kind of like putting on a knitted cap but with a lot more adjusting until it looks just right.

AND YOU'RE FINISHED!

The Origins of Lolita Fashion. (& Why You Should Never Say "Based on")

While Mastering the Art of Being Lolita I Have Noticed One Thing.

Many Lolita Blogs for beginners (not naming names, I appreciate the hard work of all these bloggers, for they helped me become a proper Lolita myself) will casually state Lolita is based on some sort of fashion (I.E. ROCOCO). However, which fashion that is, widely varies from style to style, and using the term based on, is just not accurate. So today I will be walking you through my explanation of Lolita. I will not be talking about how Lolita got it's foot hold in Japan, for it is my belief it would have eventually emerged in some form or other, even if Japan was the perfect culture to give it a jump start.

Classic Lolita

Classic Lolita, probably the most easily accessible sub-style of Lolita for me personally. However, not my personal favorite.
  • Myself on My Mothers Porch In My Personal Favorite Dress Bodyline Has Ever created.

What is Classic Lolita inspired by you may ask? Well for me it is quite simple, Classic Lolita is mainly inspired by Victorian fashion. However, some co-ords are not really Victorian, such as, Maid style, Sailor suits, & some School uniform ones.

    Sweet Lolita

Ah Sweet Lolita My personal favorite!
Myself in my favorite wig... can you tell I trimmed the bangs myself? FAIL!
The wonderful sugary Sweet Lolita which has become the Icon of Lolita fashion seams to me to be inspired by the widest range of previous fashions. Why? Because their is a higher demand for it, and therefore a need to be more creative. Now the biggest contributor to Sweet Lolita has to be the french Rococo style. However, there is definitely use of Victorian styling in many of the Alice in Wonderland like dresses. (I.E. Angelic Pretty's Wonder Cookie.) As well as some older German influence (By German influence I mean Grimms fairy tales), like that you can find in my favorite indy brand Chess Story's works. (Find on Qutie Land.)

    Gothic Lolita

    Gothic Lolita is gothic... right?

Myself in My First Lolita Photo shoot, The Dress Was My Mom's at My Age, and The Hair Accessory Home Made.

Well yeah, kinda. Gothic Lolita is of course inspired by the Gothic era in history, as well as some Baroque influence. Of course there are some who mix in Victorian, and German influences and it looks it's place, it's quite lovely actually but this is just a generalization of the inspiration.

Prince style! Also known as Kodona or Quji.

I personally love Prince style, it is so nice in winter, when you don't feel like shaving, or don't feel like bothering with Peticoats. Also if you are a tom boy like many of my friends it just works. All you do is take a normal Lolita blouse and wear trousers with it. Sooo freakin simple, and it doesn't really matter if the blouse has hearts, or is pink, because Kodona can be Classic, Sweet, or Gothic. Now the majority of the time I would say Kodona is either Classic, or Gothic, because it is a more adult sub-style, and sweet generally looks better with shorts, which defeats the no shaving of legs or warmer in the winter purposes. But pretty much the same rules apply to Kodona. However, I must say the best part of Kodona, is your boyfriend can wear it and you can look fancy together.

Myself in Gothic Prince Style at The Local Mall. It Was A Nice Day.

I realize I did not cover every single sub-style of Lolita fashion today, there are a lot of them and I actually plan on getting out of bed by noon today. However send in a request for a style not mentioned above. and I might just make it happen.

Very cute coin jar

I made this very cute very easy coin jar today, and if you are anything like me, you want your entire house to be lolita.

Materials needed:

* See through plastic jar. (I used a mega size mayo jar)

* Lace

* Ribbon (Optional)

* Fashion ducttape

* Scissors

* Super glue or Hot glue

* Exacto knife

Directions

1) Cut a hole in the lid of your jar.
2) Duct tape from one height down using the scissors to cut the duct tape.
3) Duct tape the lid so it's properly covered and trim off extra.
4) Glue the lace around the top edge of the duct tape. (Make sure to seal ends, I use a lighter and gently melt the edges however this only works with polyesters)
5) Make bows out of the ribbon, and seal edges in the same manner as the lace.
6) Glue bow on top of lid, and at the part where the lace meets.
7) Fill with change and viola! Coin jar!

Salutations

I suppose it's time to introduce myself.

My name is Betsy Clasby, I am a bisexual, brony, nerd, dominatrix, and lolita.
I dress in gothic, classic, and sweet. I would dress in guru if I was wealthy enough to ruin dresses, or talented enough to make my own dresses. I have also been known to dress in erolita for my partners.
I currently live in upstate NY which means it's very hard to find clothing for my lolita lifestyle.

What is this blog about/for?

Well I plan on doing tutorials, most of them fairly simple to do, and chronicling my struggles, as well as some of my wardrobe.

Wishing a lovely lolita time for all you ladies... AND BROLITAS!
